Alumni Art Exhibition: May 29-30,2020

We invite all Emmanuel alumni to submit three pieces of work for display in the 2020 Emmanuel College Alumni Art Exhibition! Eligible pieces include framed or unframed works, small pottery pieces, quilts, and other media. All media accepted, but must meet size criteria (under 36” in any dimension) and be shipped to and from Emmanuel College at the artist’s expense.

This exhibition is not appropriate for priceless or fragile heirloom pieces, as they will not be displayed in a secured, locked venue. All works for the exhibition must be dry, clean, finished, wired and ready to hang. Canvases need not have frames but should have clean or finished edges and be wired for hanging. Artwork exceeding 36” in any dimension will not be considered.

Limit of three pieces per Emmanuel College alumna/us.

    • Maximum size is 36” x 36” – Artwork that exceeds 36” in any dimension will not be considered.
  3. A high-resolution electronic file (jpeg) of the piece you are submitting
    • By submitting, artists allow Emmanuel College to use images for promotional and press needs (including social media) for the exhibition. The artist retains all rights to their images.
  4. Note whether you will or will not be donating your artwork for the Silent Auction.
    • If you will be participating, please update and include the following language in your submission email: Yes: I would like my work to be available for the Silent Auction. If sold, I understand that the proceeds will be donated to the Emmanuel Fund at Emmanuel College. Minimum bid is $_______. If reserve of $_____ is not met, piece will not be sold.
  5. By submitting your artwork, you are agreeing to all items outlined in our Liability and Disclaimer language below.


Liability & Disclaimer

Emmanuel College is insured for catastrophic damage, and will use the utmost care in handling artwork, but accepts no responsibility for damage or loss not covered by our policy. It is strongly advised that artists insure their own work.

By entering work, you agree to and acknowledge that:

  • Emmanuel College is not responsible for loss, damage, or theft of art pieces.
  • Emmanuel College is unable to lock or tether art pieces to walls or tables.
  • Emmanuel College is not responsible for packing or shipping of art pieces to or from Emmanuel College. Transportation of art pieces is the sole responsibility of the artist.
  • Emmanuel College is unable to provide secure storage of art pieces before and after the art exhibition.

Delivery of Artwork
Shipped work arrival deadline: Wednesday, May 27, 2020 by 4:00 p.m.

Hand-delivered work drop off: Tuesday-Wednesday, May 26-27, 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Exhibition dates: Friday, May 29 - Saturday, May 30, 2020
Opening reception: Friday, May 29, 2020, 5:00–6:00 p.m.

Pick up hand-delivered artwork:
Work will remain on display through May 30, 2020
Pick up of artwork will be from 8:00 am to 12 pm on Sunday, May 31, 2020.

Pre-paid shipped items will be shipped the week of June 2.



Work shipped to Emmanuel College must be delivered by 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2020.

*Shipping boxes and material will be preserved and stored as well as possible for return shipment (artist responsibility to pack and ship with pre-paid, pre-printed return labels.)

Hand-delivered work by the artist or a representative may be brought to the Emmanuel College Alumni Office Tuesday-Wednesday, May 26–27, 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Works not delivered in time will not be hung.


Silent Auction/Art Sales

Donations of art work will be accepted for a silent auction to benefit the Emmanuel Fund. You must indicate your intention to submit to the silent auction with full details about minimum bids and reserves in your emailed submission.

Private sale may be conducted between parties, separate from Emmanuel College.


Pick-up of Unsold/Not-to-Be-Sold Works

Work will be displayed through Saturday, May 30, 2020.

The artist must arrange for pickup between 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon on Sunday, May 31st. Pre-paiod shipped items will be shipped the week of June 2, 2020.
