What are the current COVID-19 Guidelines for this event?

As of Wednesday, August 11, 2021, all individuals regardless of vaccination statusare required to wear a mask when indoors on the Emmanuel College campus. Unvaccinated individuals are also required to wear a mask outdoors while on the Emmanuel College campus.

This requirement includes all graduates and guests during the ceremony and reception, with the following exceptions: 

  • Graduates may remove their mask when they cross the stage to allow for photographs.
  • Masks do not need to be worn while actively eating or drinking.

Please review and complete the COVID health attestation and mask policy and share with any invited guests.


What is the check-in procedure?

Graduates and their guests should plan to arrive to campus at 2:30 p.m. in advance of the 4:00 p.m. ceremony. Graduates will check in at the Auditorium in the Eisner Administration Building. After checking in, graduates will line up in the Auditorium for the procession.

Guests are to check in at registration tables on the Quad in front of the Jean Yawkey Center. Wristbands permitting access to the reception will be given to registered attendees. Ticket requests and registration are now closed.


How do I get my cap and gown and do I need to pay?

The College is providing caps and gowns for graduates, but each attendee must contact the Emmanuel Bookstore to order. Academic dress may be picked up at the Bookstore during the hours below or shipped to your home. In order to gurantee on-time arrival, all orders for shipping must be made by Friday, August 13th.

Will a professional photo be taken of each graduate and can they be ordered?

Yes, each graduate will have their photo taken with President Sr. Janet Eisner, SNDdeN. We are partnering with Barksdale/Hockmeyer for these photographs, and information about ordering can be viewed here.

Additionally, the College will post photos of the event on the website and social media.


Will a livestream of the ceremony be available?

Yes, we will offer a livestream of the Class of 2020 Commencement Celebration on and Vimeo. A recording of the 2020 Commencement Celebration will be available to view at the same links following the event.


Can I park on campus?

Complimentary parking will be available for graduates and guests on 8/21. Graduates and guests will be directed by Campus Safety to on and off-campus parking in close proximity. We encourage graduates and guests to leave plenty of time to park and arrive on campus for check-in prior to assigned ceremony. Cars that are parked in the off-campus parking must remove their car by 9:00 p.m. Those who need special assistance or require handicapped parking should contact Campus Safety in advance of 8/21 at (617) 735-9710.


Can I still register?

RSVPs were due by 7/23/21 and ticket requests and registration are now closed.


Are there any hotel blocks in the area?

We are happy to partner with local hotels in the area to offer you and your guests a special rate in honor of this occasion. Room block rates are available to book for August 20th and 21st through July 20th. Check with hotel to confirm rate if booking after July 20th:
