The Catherine McLaughlin Hakim Lecture Series will take place on Tuesday, April 14th at 4:30 p.m. in the Janet M. Daley Lecture Hall in the Cardinal Cushing Library. This lecture series has been established by Dr. Raymond Hakim to honor his late wife, Catherine McLaughlin Hakim '70, a sociology major at Emmanuel College. The lecture series is sponsored by the Sociology Department at Emmanuel College.

The 2015 speaker is Peggy McIntosh, Ph.D., Associate Director of the Wellesley Centers for Women. Dr. McIntosh is the founder of the National SEED (Seeking Educational Equity and Diversity) Project on Inclusive Curriculum and co-founder of the Rocky Mountain Women’s Institute. The SEED Project helps teachers create more gender-fair and multicultural curricula. In addition to having four honorary degrees, she is the recipient of the Klingenstein Award for Distinguished Educational Leadership from Columbia Teachers College.
