Urban Food Project

Established in 2014, Emmanuel College’s Urban Food Project (UFP) connects Emmanuel students with neighbors and local community groups on the issue of food justice and access, nutrition, and urban gardening. Students plant and maintain an urban garden located at the Notre Dame Campus. An existing greenhouse on Emmanuel's main campus allows for year-round gardening and gardening education as well as help to support the Notre Dame Campus garden. The UFP works in collaboration with community partners to share food and create educational programs. As part of its outreach efforts, Emmanuel students visit Mission Grammar regularly to provide workshops on nutrition and healthy lifestyles.
