Tour the Notre Dame campus (opened in 2014) in Fort Hill/Highland Park, a former Anglican convent and the historic residence of William Lloyd Garrison. The campus houses around 30 students who have committed to a live-learning experience centered on Emmanuel's mission, reflection, urban education and service. The campus is also the hub for the Urban Food Project, which connects Emmanuel students with neighbors and community groups on food availability and nutrition, particularly among low-income families. The Project includes the planting and maintenance of an urban garden—the harvest of which is shared with local organizations.

Tour the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in a private atmosphere before the Museum opens to the public. Guided by experienced Gardner Museum Teachers, you will view the Gardner's compilation of tapestries, exquisite antique furniture, and famous collections while hearing wonderful anecdotes about Mrs. Gardner's sophisticated and eclectic life and the famous heist. The Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum is an intimate collection of fine and decorative art and a vibrant, innovative venue for contemporary artists, musicians and scholars. Housed in a stunning 15th-century Venetian-style palace with three stories of galleries surrounding a sun-and flower-filled courtyard, the Museum provides an unusual backdrop for the viewing of art. The collection contains more than 2,500 paintings, sculptures, tapestries, furniture, manuscripts, rare books and decorative arts. The galleries house works by some of the most recognized artists in the world, including Titian, Rembrandt, Michelangelo, Raphael, Botticelli, Manet, Degas, Whistler and Sargent.
Beginning at 9:00 a.m., enjoy Mrs. Gardner's signature cinnamon donuts and a taste of champagne-the same items was served at the Museum's opening on New Year's Day 1903. The group will depart campus at 9:20 a.m for the walk up the Fenway to the museum.

Enjoy a walk through the centuries of a historic landscape which Emmanuel College has been a part of for almost 100 years. Hear the story of how Frederick Law Olmsted transformed an area of polluted waterways and mudflats into a scenic fens and the later 20th century revisions that resulted in the landscape Emmanuel College overlooks today. The tour will include a walk through the historic Kelleher Rose Garden with its more than 1,500 roses and recently reconstructed fountain. Meander the paths of the oldest continually operating Victory Garden in America.
Though not a strenuous walk, this tour is only recommended for those who are comfortable walking about one and a half miles. Comfortable shoes recommended.
