Bill Cummings, well known in the Greater Boston community and beyond for his success in business and real estate and his commitment to philanthropy, will deliver the keynote address at Emmanuel College’s Academic Convocation on Tuesday, September 11th.

Hines Explores “Signs of the Times” for Newest Generation of Catholics at Annual CTSA Convention
Professor of Theology Mary Hines delivered the Presidential Address at the annual convention of the Catholic Theological Society of America (CTSA) held in Indianapolis from June 7–10. Her address was titled “Searching the Signs of These Times: Intimations of Grace,” tying into this year's convention theme, “Grace at Work in the World.” Professor Hines has served as President of the Society for 2017–2018.

Lawson Named Saints Head Men's Basketball Coach and Assistant Athletic Director
Following a national search, the Emmanuel College Athletic Department is pleased to announce the appointment of Danny Lawson as the Head Men's Basketball Coach and Assistant Athletic Director. Lawson becomes just the third head coach in the program's 17-year history.

Marian Ryan '76

Alumna Spotlight

When Marian Ryan '76 was a student at Emmanuel in the 1970s, she did not foresee that she would become a veteran prosecutor, let alone serve in her current role as District Attorney of Middlesex County, Massachusetts. Still, the Political Science and English double-major gained an appreciation for the impact of the public servant and of being in “a position where you can set policy and really affect people’s lives every day,” she says. Today Ryan works to ensure the protection of 1.7 million people in 54 cities and towns in the Commonwealth.
