Career Center Launches Employer Advisory Council with Local Organizations
In an effort to broaden the scope of their work, the Career Center at Emmanuel College has launched the Employer Advisory Council, a colloquium comprised of Career Center staff and human resource professionals from area institutions created to discuss trends of the industry, best practices and more, which held its first meeting on December 5.

Alumni Higher Education Professionals Discuss Passage into the Field
The Office of Student Affairs recently hosted a panel discussion “Pathways to a Career in Higher Education” on Wednesday, November 28, for students interested in pursuing careers in the field. The panel featured twelve alumni speakers across various realms of higher education, namely advising, athletics, residential life and more, who returned to Emmanuel to participate.

College Community Celebrates 150 Years of "Little Women," Explores Social Relevance
In celebration of the 150th anniversary of Louisa May Alcott’s timeless novel "Little Women," Emmanuel College’s English Department, in coalition with the Film and Book Club and Cardinal Cushing Library staff, hosted a three-day series of events to examine the highly celebrated work of literature through artistic, social and historical lenses during a film screening, a guest lecture and a student-faculty panel discussion.

Marian Ryan '76

Alumna Spotlight

When Marian Ryan '76 was a student at Emmanuel in the 1970s, she did not foresee that she would become a veteran prosecutor, let alone serve in her current role as District Attorney of Middlesex County, Massachusetts. Still, the Political Science and English double-major gained an appreciation for the impact of the public servant and of being in “a position where you can set policy and really affect people’s lives every day,” she says. Today Ryan works to ensure the protection of 1.7 million people in 54 cities and towns in the Commonwealth.
