Despite multiple flight delays due to a Boston nor’easter, nearly 60 members of the Emmanuel community participated in this year's Alternative Spring Break (ASB) program, which sent groups of students and staff to service sites in New Orleans, Houston, Phoenix and Boston during the week of March 5th.

Marian Ryan '76

Alumna Spotlight

When Marian Ryan '76 was a student at Emmanuel in the 1970s, she did not foresee that she would become a veteran prosecutor, let alone serve in her current role as District Attorney of Middlesex County, Massachusetts. Still, the Political Science and English double-major gained an appreciation for the impact of the public servant and of being in “a position where you can set policy and really affect people’s lives every day,” she says. Today Ryan works to ensure the protection of 1.7 million people in 54 cities and towns in the Commonwealth.
