Emmanuel College Celebrates 97th Commencement Exercises in Centennial Year; Speakers Share Messages of Leadership, Service and Perseverance
The College added nearly 600 undergraduate and graduate students to the global network of Emmanuel alumni during its celebration of the 97th Commencement Exercises on Saturday, May 11th. The Class of 2019 has the special distinction of graduating in the College’s Centennial year, and with their graduation, the total number of degrees conferred since 1923 rose to more than 25,000.

Christopher Moore ’19 recently presented his thesis at the Visual Culture Consortium’s 11th Annual Undergraduate Art History Symposium at the Museum of Fine Arts Boston. Now on the brink of his graduation from Emmanuel, Moore is preparing to embark on graduate studies in Glasgow, Scotland.

Marian Ryan '76

Alumna Spotlight

When Marian Ryan '76 was a student at Emmanuel in the 1970s, she did not foresee that she would become a veteran prosecutor, let alone serve in her current role as District Attorney of Middlesex County, Massachusetts. Still, the Political Science and English double-major gained an appreciation for the impact of the public servant and of being in “a position where you can set policy and really affect people’s lives every day,” she says. Today Ryan works to ensure the protection of 1.7 million people in 54 cities and towns in the Commonwealth.
